WELCOME

Camarillo State Hospital was the most famous psychiatric institution in California history. This website is intended to preserve a part of that history for the general public and for CSH employees in particular. 

The staff at Camarillo State Hospital were a tightly knit community. I hope that this website will provide a resource for them to remember people who were friends, and often family, as well as the place that brought them together. I further hope that other guests, including former patients, will find it interesting and informative.
