CAMARILLO STATE HOSPITAL EMPLOYEE PHOTOGRAPHS  10

For decades Camarillo State Hospital housed an education program preparing students to sit for State Licensing Board examinations to become Licensed Psychiatric Technicians. The Psychiatric Technician Program combined three semesters of classroom teaching as well as clinical lab experience. Clinical ratations were completed on units at the State Hospital and in private facilities in neighboring communities. From about 1980 until 1993 there was also a 'Psychiatric Technician Apprenticeship Program' at Camarillo. In this program students attended classes and clinical rotations but also worked the Units as paid unlicensed employees. To complete the PTA Program required about 2 years of classes and hands-on training. Below are graduation class photos of many of the groups of graduating students.

I came across the "Camarillo State Hospital Courtyard" Site 
while looking for ways to verify my employment there.
Seemingly a life time ago, the photos touched me deeply.
So too, did the passing of Michelle Roulston, an admired instructor.
I know that it has been a few years, but 
I thought you might enjoy seeing the attached photograph anyway. 
As "Clean Hands And A Pure Heart" still echos in my ears,
this phrase (our class motto, coined by Michelle), 
is as meaningful to me today as it ever was. 
I wish her family the best.
